Max Scherzer (triceps) cleared to start Thursday for the Nationals

Washington Nationals starting pitcher Max Scherzer, who was scratched from his last start with triceps discomfort, has been physically cleared to start Thursday vs. the Phillies according to beat reporter Mark Zuckerman. (Mark Zuckerman on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Scherzer has been the subject of trade rumors over the last few weeks so it's a good sign that he's been physically cleared if the Nationals end up moving him prior to the trade deadline later this week. If Scherzer is unable to make Thursday's start then Paolo Espino would fill in for him, per manager Davey Martinez.
