Anibal Sanchez strong in win against Royals

by Brendan Ross | Mon, May 4th 2:20am EDT

Anibal Sanchez took home the win in a 6-4 victory Sunday against the Royals. Sanchez surrendered three runs off four hits over 7 1/3 innings.

Fantasy Impact:

Sanchez struck out 4 batters and walked none in what was a perfect game until the sixth inning. The Royals got to him late, tagging Sanchez for two runs in the seventh and another in the eighth inning. His ERA dropped but is still quite high at 5.11, although Sanchez carries a terrific 1.16 WHIP and 35/9 K/BB ratio over 37 innings this season. Sanchez can be up and down at times, but if he can scatter the hits and prevent big innings, he should be a solid option in all fantasy leagues and his ERA should come down if his FIP of 3.74 is any indication. Sanchez still carries a high HR/FB ratio of 10.4% and GB% of 35.5%, both of which are worse than his career numbers and should correct themselves over time.
