Jered Weaver gives up back-to-back homers Sunday
by Eric Townsend | Mon, May 4th 8:54am EDT
Jered Weaver allowed five earned runs on ten hits in five innings against the Giants on Sunday. He had two strikeouts and one walk in the outing.
Fantasy Impact:
Weaver began his start on Sunday in the worst way possible, giving up back-to-back homers to the first two batters he faced, including on the opening pitch to Aoki. It didn't get better from there as he proceeded to give up three more runs before being taken out in the fifth inning. At this point Weaver has only had two quality starts in five games, and he's not striking out enough bats (3.93 K/9) to be worth using in mixed leagues. AL-Only owners should be prepared to make the cut if things don't improve soon.
