Ruiz has been considered a top-100 prospect for years now, but he hadn't hit in the upper minors until this season. The 23-year-old reportedly worked on his stance at the alternate training site last summer, becoming more upright in order to hit for more power. He has always had strong plate discipline and bat to ball skills, but in Triple-A this year he was hitting with more authority. Ruiz could be a catching option in redraft leagues if Washington elects to call him up down the stretch. He's certainly a name to keep an eye on as Baseball America recently ranked him as the No. 16 overall prospect in the sport.
