Tony Gonsolin struggles with control in Friday's loss

by Jon Mathisen | Dodgers Correspondent | Sat, Jul 31st 10:12am EDT

RHP Tony Gonsolin was given a no-decision on Friday when he surrendered two runs on one hit with five walks and a strikeout over 1 2/3 innings as the Dodgers were defeated 6-5 by the D-Backs.

Fantasy Impact:

Gonsolin really struggled with his control in this one, walking five batters over just 1 2/3 innings. Four of those free passes came in the second inning and two of them came around to score off a Josh VanMeter double. This was the second time this season that Gonsolin has issued five walks, the other time was his debut back on June 9. He still owns a solid 2.78 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, and 42:26 K/BB ratio over 35 2/3 innings (10 appearances, nine starts). He'll get the Angels at home in his next start.
