Jake McGee locks up his 22nd save of the season

by Jon Mathisen | Giants Correspondent | Sat, Jul 31st 11:58pm EDT

LHP Jake McGee locked up the save on Saturday when he struck out one batter over a scoreless ninth inning in the Giants' 8-6 win over the Astros.

Fantasy Impact:

McGee faced Yordan Alvarez, Martin Maldonado, and Jose Altuve while trying to protect a two-run lead. He was able to get the job done by getting Alvarez to ground out, Maldonado to strike out, and Altuve to fly out. This was McGee's 22nd save of the season as he's now converted 12 straight chances. He owns a rock-solid 2.28 ERA and 0.78 WHIP with 46 strikeouts over 43 1/3 innings. He's been a pleasant surprise all season for the Giants and fantasy managers alike.
