Vladimir Gutierrez goes seven strong in win Sunday

by Connor Rooney | Marlins Correspondent | Sun, Aug 1st 5:22pm EDT

Vladimir Gutierrez (6-3) earned the win Sunday against the Mets, allowing one run on three hits and two walks across seven innings. He struck out four.

Fantasy Impact:

Gutierrez was excellent Sunday, scattering just three hits over seven innings. A Jeff McNeil solo homer prevented a scoreless outing. Gutierrez has won both his starts since being recalled from Triple-A. Overall, he has a 4.39 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and a 46:30 K:BB across 67.2 innings. He has a volatile profile as a flyball pitcher, but it's hard to argue with these results. He'll take on the Pirates next.
