Eric Lauer (4-4) earned the win Monday against the Pirates, tossing five shutout innings while allowing three hits and no walks. He struck out three.
Fantasy Impact:
Lauer was excellent on Monday, scattering just three hits over five dominant innings. He kept hitters off balance and demonstrated great control. This season, he holds a 3.50 ERA and 1.24 WHIP across 69.1 innings with 67 strikeouts. He's been serving as a hybrid sixth starter / swingman role, so it's not certain he'll make another start this weekend. If he does, he'll take on the Giants.
