Spencer Howard picks up loss in Rangers debut

While making his Rangers debut on Thursday, starting pitcher Spencer Howard allowed three runs over 2.1 innings of work against the Angels. His final line included three hits, two walks, three strikeouts, and the loss as Texas ultimately fell to Los Angeles by a score of 5-0.

Howard has appeared in 12 games this year, making eight starts. He is 0-3 with a 6.16 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, and .243 OBA while walking 19 batters and striking out 34. The former top prospect has struggled immensely through parts of two MLB seasons.
