Christian Vazquez placed on bereavement list

The Red Sox placed catcher Christian Vazquez on the bereavement list prior to Wednesday's game against the Rays. In a corresponding move, Connor Wong was recalled from Triple-A Worcester. (Christopher Smith on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Thanks to his offensive woes and fellow backstop Kevin Plawecki's recent success at the plate, Vazquez has seen the bench more often lately. He's hitting just .228 with zero homers over the past 30 games. This lack of power has been an unfortunate trend for the 30-year-old, who has just four homers in 2021 and has not gone yard since June 27th.
