Tyler Gilbert Surrenders four runs in no-decision

by Jon Mathisen | Reds Correspondent | Sat, Aug 21st 11:40am EDT

LHP Tyler Gilbert took a no-decision on Friday when he surrendered four runs on nine hits with one walk and two strikeouts over five innings as the D-Backs lost to the Rockies 9-4.

Fantasy Impact:

Gilbert was attempting to follow up the no-hitter that he tossed against the Padres in his first-ever career start last week but it wasn't meant to be this time. The Rockies hit him around on Friday with Garrett Hampson delivering the big blow, a two-run homer in the second. The so-so outing raised Gilbert's ERA to 2.04 with a 0.96 WHIP, and 12:6 K/BB ratio over 17 2/3 innings (five games, two starts). He'll get the Pirates on the road in his next turn, which should be a little easier than facing the Rockies in Coors Field.
