Phillies' first baseman Rhys Hoskins is out for the remainder of the 2021 season due to a tear in his lower abdomen. (Todd Zolecki on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Hoskins was just placed on the 10-day IL with what the Phillies initially thought was a groin strain, but it looks to be a much more serious injury than they initially suspected. Hoskins will have season-ending surgery to repair a tear in his lower abdomen, a huge blow to the Phillies and their long shot playoff hopes. Hoskins will end the 2021 season with 27 home runs, 71 RBIs, and a slash line of .247/.334/.530.
