Marwin Gonzalez signs minor-league deal with the Astros

Free-agent infielder Marwin Gonzalez signed a minor league deal with the Houston Astros on Friday. (Mark Berman on Twitter )
Fantasy Impact:
The Boston Red Sox released Gonzalez on August 16 after struggling at the plate in 2021. He slashed .202/.281/.285 with two home runs, 20 RBI, and three stolen bases over 276 plate appearances. Gonzalez returns to Houston, where he played his first seven big-league seasons with. The 32-year-old will report to Triple-A Sugar Land and, if he performs well, could make the 26-man roster in September.
