Daniel Bard spoils game in eighth inning

by Andersen Pickard | Rockies Correspondent | Sun, Aug 29th 9:15am EDT

Rockies reliever Daniel Bard was summoned from the bullpen to pitch the eighth inning of a 2-2 game against the Dodgers on Saturday. He ultimately allowed three runs on two hits and two walks, all while failing to retire a batter. He was hit with the loss as Colorado ultimately fell to Los Angeles by a score of 5-2.

Fantasy Impact:

Bard dropped to 7-7 with a 5.61 ERA, 1.68 WHIP, and .294 OBA through 51.1 innings of relief work this year. He has also blown eight saves while converting 20. The 36-year-old owns a horrendous 21.21 ERA over the course of his last seven appearances. It appears that Colorado should no longer be able to trust him in high-leverage situations, such as tied games and save opportunities.
