Pavin Smith reaches three times in win over Friars

by Jon Mathisen | Diamondbacks Correspondent | Wed, Sep 1st 9:07pm EDT

First baseman Pavin Smith went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored as the Diamondbacks took down the Padres 8-3 on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact:

Smith got the Diamondbacks going in the bottom of the third inning when he cracked an RBI double off Yu Darvish. He would come around to score that same inning when Josh VanMeter ripped a three-run homer. Smith would reach two more times in the ball game and score another run as well. The 25-year-old rookie has put together a solid season in the desert, batting .270 with a .732 OPS, 10 home runs, 43 RBI, and one stolen base over 441 at-bats.
