Michael Chavis: Elbow injury not expected to be season-ending

by Andersen Pickard | Mariners Correspondent | Wed, Sep 1st 9:51pm EDT

Pirates infielder Michael Chavis, who is dealing with an elbow injury, is going to rest for five to seven days. Beat reporter Alex Stumpf notes that doctors are "optimistic he will play again this season." (Alex Stumpf on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Chavis felt elbow soreness while making a throw and was eventually replaced on the 10-day IL. The good news is that doctors do not expect the injury to be season-ending, though the out-of-contention Pirates surely won't rush the 26-year-old back into action any sooner than needed. He has gone 8-for-22 since being called up from Triple-A on August 23rd.
