Athletics starting pitcher Chris Bassitt (face) threw a bullpen session on Saturday afternoon. He will travel with the team this week and could make several starts before the season's end. (Martin Gallegos on Twitter)
This was Bassitt's first time pitching on a mound since his horrific facial injury in mid-August. The 32-year-old was a key part of the Oakland rotation, going 12-4 with a 3.22 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and .219 OBA through 25 starts. He had walked just 35 batters and struck out 154 along the way.
