Matt Barnes is expected to rejoin the Red Sox this weekend during their upcoming series against the Baltimore Orioles (Chris Cotillo on Twitter)

Barnes' return comes at the perfect time as the Sox continue their wild card push. Barnes has been solid in the closer role for the Red Sox this season with 24 saves in 30 opportunities, a 3.81 earned run average, and 78 strikeouts in 49.2 innings pitched. However, he has been shaky recently, so there's a good chance Adam Ottavino keeps the job for a while.
