Catcher Buster Posey went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored as the Giants defeated the Padres 6-1 on Tuesday.
Posey opened up the scoring on Tuesday, swatting his 18th homer of the year off Jake Arrieta in the bottom of the first inning. He singled in the third inning and came around to score as well. The resurgent backstop has put together an excellent season the San Francisco, slashing .301/.391/.510 with 18 homers and 46 RBI over 345 at-bats. He's a big reason why the Giants were the first team to clinch a playoff berth.
