Huascar Ynoa pitched 4 2/3 innings against the Rockies Wednesday, allowing four hits, two runs (both earned), and two walks while striking out eight batters. He did not factor in the decision, a 3-2 Braves loss. He threw 92 pitches, 60 for strikes, and carries a 3.26 ERA.
Ynoa is making rookie mistakes and is getting his development in under live-fire. The 23-year-old has shown some good things to build upon, and he'll grow from these starts. But the fact remains that, speaking honestly, the team only has three bonafide starters right now. Ynoa has a future, yes, but he's still developing.
