Ian Anderson pitched 5 2/3 innings against the Giants Friday, allowing five hits, four runs (all earned), and two walks while striking out seven batters. He was not a factor in the decision. He threw 99 pitches, 60 for strikes, and carries a 3.75 ERA.
The Braves are obviously weakest at starting pitching (and relief, too) simply because most of the rotation is pitching in their rookie years. Anderson is set for a good career but his effort tonight will not help the Braves defend their NL East title.
