Second baseman Donovan Solano went 1-for-1 with a pinch-hit solo home run as the Giants beat the Braves 6-5 on Friday.
Solano has been absent from the Giants' lineup for nearly a month due to COVID-19 so this was his first appearance in a ball game since August 24. He came up clutch in this one, swatting a pinch-hit, game-tying solo homer in the ninth inning to send the game to extra innings. The Giants would go on to win in the 10th inning. The veteran infielder is now slashing .278/.338/.406 with seven home runs, 31 RBI, and two stolen bases over 288 at-bats.
