Max Scherzer shuts down the Reds en route to 15th victory

by Jon Mathisen | Rangers Correspondent | Sun, Sep 19th 12:56pm EDT

RHP Max Scherzer blanked the Reds on Saturday when he allowed just two hits with two walks and seven strikeouts over seven scoreless innings in the Dodgers' 5-1 win.

Fantasy Impact:

The Reds never even had a chance against "Mad Max," as he was locked in from the opening frame. He uncharacteristically walked a few batters and his strikeout numbers were a tad lower than what fantasy managers have come to expect but it was a dominant effort all the same. The 37-year-old hurler has been incredible since coming over from the Nationals at the trade deadline and now owns a sparkling 2.08 ERA, 0.81 WHIP, and 226:35 K/BB ratio over 169 innings (28 starts). He'll get the D-Backs on the road in his next turn.
