Fantasy Impact:

Ryu woke up with neck soreness Saturday morning following Friday’s start. “It looks like it’s a mild strain,” said Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins. “So we just decided not to push through at this point and take the opportunity to have it get completely out of there.” He has struggled recently, surrendering 12 earned runs over his last two starts. Overall, the southpaw owns a 4.34 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and 133 strikeouts over 159 2/3 innings in 2021. Ryu is eligible to come off the injured list on September 28. Ross Stripling is expected to be used as a spot starter while Ryu is sidelined.
