Garrett Whitlock (pectoral) placed on IL

Garrett Whitlock will be placed on the 10-day IL after suffering the pectoral injury on Sunday. The Red Sox remain optimistic, stating the injury isn't "that serious". (Alex Speier on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Red Sox manager Alex Cora says the plan is for Whitlock to spend the minimum ten days on the IL, although that also likely means he is done for the remainder of the regular season, or very close to it. Ideally he sees one or two appearances before being thrown into action in the playoffs, but we'll just have to see how quickly he recovers from the pectoral strain.
