Alex Wood punches out seven over four innings

by Jon Mathisen | Athletics Correspondent | Sat, Sep 25th 12:18pm EDT

LHP Alex Wood took a no-decision on Friday when he allowed two runs on six hits with seven strikeouts over four innings in the Giants' 7-2 win over the Rockies.

Fantasy Impact:

Wood is still in the process of getting stretched out after missing nearly a month on the COVID-19 list. He got off to a shaky start on Friday, surrendering a pair of runs in the first inning but he was able to regroup and shut out the Rockies over his final three frames. He struck out seven batters and didn't issue a walk in the contest. The 30-year-old southpaw now owns a 4.00 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and 146:39 K/BB ratio over 132 2/3 innings (25 starts). He'll draw the Diamondbacks at home in his final start of the regular season.
