Max Fried strong over seven Wednesday

by Steve Painter | Braves Correspondent | Wed, Sep 29th 11:57pm EDT

Max Fried pitched seven innings against the Phillies Wednesday, allowing four hits and two runs (one earned) while striking out six batters.

Fantasy Impact:

A lot has been said of ace Charlie Morton having the best overall year in terms of steady production, but Fried has been the man in the second half this season. As beat writer David O'Brien puts it, "Fried is 7-0 with a 1.46 ERA in 11 starts in August and September. He pitched at least six innings in each and allowed one or no earned runs in eight of the 11." Now, if the Braves can get Ian Anderson going they might win a few games in the playoffs, providing they get there.
