Max Scherzer gives up five runs in no-decision

by Jon Mathisen | Rangers Correspondent | Thu, Sep 30th 11:28am EDT

RHP Max Scherzer took a no-decision on Wednesday when he allowed six runs (five earned) on 11 hits with four strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings in the Dodgers' 11-9 win over the Padres.

Fantasy Impact:

Scherzer had another uncharacteristically poor start on Wednesday, coughing up six runs (five earned) against the Friars. Manny Machado and Victor Caratini both homered off him while Adam Frazier and Wil Myers added RBI's of their own. This was a crazy back-and-forth game and with most fantasy seasons already over, the implications weren't too big. The 37-year-old righty has struggled over his last two starts, allowing 10 earned runs--he surrendered just five earned runs over his previous nine starts--which is a bit concerning. His regular season ends with a 2.46 ERA, 0.86 WHIP, and 236:36 K/BB ratio over 179 1/3 innings (30 starts).
