Lance McCullers Jr. will not pitch in this year's world Series against Atlanta, he announced on Monday. (Chandler Rome on Twitter)

McCullers said Dr. Neal ElAttrache saw his MRI and thinks there is nothing wrong with his UCL. McCullers said his strain normally calls for a six to eight week shutdown. McCullers expects to be fully healthy and ready to go for spring training. Houston will have to get it done without him in the meantime. Framber Valdez will be on the mound for Game 1 on Tuesday against the Braves.
