Addison Reed out as Dbacks' closer

Diamondbacks manager Chip Hale said that he will not directly go to Addison Reed in save opportunities anymore, but rather rely on matchups to fill the ninth inning role. Reed could see playing time in earlier innings, but his 7.20 ERA has been costly for the Dbacks. (Steve Gilbert)

This news comes just hours after Reed blew a save opportunity by giving up a go-ahead grand slam to the Nationals' Michael Taylor on Wednesday. It could be the reliable Brad Ziegler taking over the closer role, but for right now it sounds like a situation to avoid in fantasy.
