Kevin Pillar declines mutual option

The Mets and Kevin Pillar both declined their respective sides of a mutual option for the 2022 season. The veteran outfielder is now a free agent. (Jon Heyman on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Despite missing time due to being hit by a pitch in the face, Pillar turned in a solid .231/.277/.415 slash line with 15 homers and 47 RBI in 2021. On a more negative note, the impending free agent posted poor walk (3.2 percent) and strikeout (23.3 percent) rates.
