The Padres have declined their 2022 club option on veteran outfielder Jake Marisnick. They'll give him a $500,000 buyout rather than paying him $4 million next season. (Kevin Acee on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Traded from the Cubs to the Padres at the trade deadline, Marisnick slashed .216/.286/.375 with five homers and 24 RBI through 99 games in 2021. Along the way, he racked up a 5.6 percent walk rate and 32.8 percent strikeout rate. He could be looking at minor league offers this winter.
