Rockies demote struggling Drew Stubbs to triple-A

by Grant Evje | Thu, May 21st 2:30am EDT

The Colorado Rockies demoted struggling outfielder Drew Stubbs on Wednesday, calling up outfielder Brandon Barnes as his replacement. Stubbs was batting just .118 on the season with 30 Ks in 51 ABs. (Nic Groke of the Denver Post )

Fantasy Impact:

The 30-year old Stubbs was an extremely productive player for the Rockies just last season batting .289/.339/.482 with 15 HR and 20 SB. He had certainly made his mark in fantasy circles as well. The strikeouts have always been an issue with Stubbs, and he has particularly struggled in that department this year. With Corey Dickerson already on the shelf, who is going to play outfield for the already dismal Rockies?
