Paul Goldschmidt comes off bench, gets pinch-hit single

Paul Goldschmidt was not in the starting lineup for the first time all season Thursday, but came off the bench in the eighth inning as a pinch-hitter and got a base hit. Goldschmidt had been 4-for-24 during the Diamondbacks' road trip coming into the game.
Fantasy Impact:
The day off was just a rest day for Goldschmidt, who had started the first 39 games of the season for the D'backs. The Diamondbacks return home Friday after their seven-game East Coast trip and Goldschmidt is expected to be in his usual spot at first base, hitting third in the lineup.
