Adam Jones listed day to day

by James McGowan | Sun, May 31st 12:27am EDT

Adam Jones got the day off on Saturday as the Orioles lost to the Rays 3-0. According to manager buck Showalter, the Orioles all-star center fielder has a mild ankle sprain. Jones went for an x-ray and an MRI, both were negative and structurally he checked out fine. (MLB)

Fantasy Impact:

Jones injured the ankle on a slide home, in Thursday's nights doubleheader against the Whitesox. Jones is hitting .304 this season, with six home runs, and 26 RBI. Jones is on pace for another all-star season, and he has been one of the more consistent performers for the Orioles over the past few years. Jones had started to struggle at the plate before his injury, slumping just a little with a lack of power at the plate. It'll be interesting to see how this injury will affect Jones, but if it's only a sprain and he lets it heal then he will be back in no time. Jones will look to get back to his old ways at the plate when he returns, and the Orioles will need to find someone else to produce for them.
