Justin Verlander throws 2 2/3 inning at triple-A Toldeo

by Nathan Burns | Astros Correspondent | Sun, May 31st 10:31pm EDT

Justin Verlander finally got back on the hill in a real game. The results were mixed. His speed topped 96-mph. He couldn't get out of the third inning yet still threw 79 pitches. Although 50 of them were strikes. He gave up 6 hits and 3 runs while mixing in 2 walks and 3 Ks. (Jason Beck)

Fantasy Impact:

A misplayed pop-up extended an inning. The important thing for JV is how he feels tomorrow. He wasn't hit hard, and his strike-to-ball ratio was fine. So was the velocity. His next start at Toledo will be much more telling.
