Adrian Gonzalez smacks two doubles in a perfect night at the plate

by Eric Westlund | Tue, Jun 2nd 1:56am EDT

Adrian Gonzalez batted 4-for-4 with two doubles, a walk, and a run scored in the Dodgers' 11-4 victory over the Rockies on Monday. His 19 doubles lead all of baseball by two, as Michael Brantley, Derek Norris, and Matt Carpenter have 17 apiece.

Fantasy Impact:

After blasting five homers in the Dodgers' first three games in April, Gonzalez famously quipped that he is not a home run hitter, a statement that accurately predicted his pace would slow down considerably. Despite his modest total of ten homers (just two in May), Gonzalez has singled and doubled his way to a slugging percentage of .611 that is fifth-best in MLB. Fantasy owners should look elsewhere for elite pop, but Gonzalez should get to around 25 homers while providing top-notch production in batting average and RBI.
