Jeff Samardzija gets rocked by the Rangers

Jeff Samardzija had a horrible day at the office on Tuesday. The White Sox lost to the Rangers 2-15. Samardzija pitched 5.0 innings and let up nine earned runs on 12 hits. He finished with only four strikeouts and threw one walk. He also let up two HR.
Fantasy Impact:
Jeff Samardzija has not lived up to expectations this year. He has had some solid outings, but for the most part he has been a disappointment. Samardzija is now 4-3 on the season with a 4.68 ERA. Samardzija has a decent K/9 ratio, averaging over seven strikeouts per game. However, batters have an OPS of .747 against him and he is allowing one HR and 10 hits per nine innings. Samardizja can have some gems, but is too inconsistent to be trusted. I would stay away from him in daily leagues and see if you can find a more consistent option in standard formats.
