Clay Buccholz strikes out eight

by Chris McCoy | Wed, Jun 3rd 10:18am EDT

Clay Buccholz was dominant Tuesday night against the Twins throwing eight scoreless innings. He struck out eight while allowing only three hits and two walks. He exited after the eight inning having only thrown 92 pitches.

Fantasy Impact:

Its easy to look at Clay Buccholz's Win/Loss record (3-6) and pass him right over as a fantasy option, but you may be doing so at your own peril as he is on a definite hot streak right now. In his last four starts Buccholz has pitches 30.2 innings while allowing only five runs and striking out 27. His ERA is now below 4.00 for the first time since its high water mark of 6.03 on May 4th. Buccholz always carries a certain degree of risk, but when he's hot he's as good as any pitcher in the game.
