The 27-year-old reliever still needs time to build his arm up and the Nationals needed to make a move in order to put Anibal Sanchez on the major league roster. In three seasons with Baltimore, Harvey tallied a 3.42 ERA and 1.183 WHIP. However, his FIP is 4.71, suggesting significant regression is possible.
