Wandy Rodriguez shuts down the Royals

by Mitch Cox | Sat, Jun 6th 9:43pm EDT

Wandy Rodriguez continued his magical comeback from the dustbin of baseball, allowing just six hits and one run over seven innings of work to lead the Rangers to a 4-2 win over the Royals. Rodriguez struck out four and did not walk a batter in upping his record to 3-2. (www.mlb.com)

Fantasy Impact:

GM Jon Daniels takes a lot of grief from Rangers fans, but his pickup of Rodriguez after the Braves had released the veteran southpaw has proven to be a stroke of genius. With the injuries to Yu Darvish and Derek Holland, and the ineffectiveness of off-season pickup Ross Detwiler, Rodriguez has proven to be a stabilizing force in the rotation.
