Lucas Giolito gets quality start but takes loss vs. Angels

by Kendall Capps | Red Sox Correspondent | Sat, Apr 30th 3:56am EDT

White Sox starter Lucas Giolito pitched decently on Friday, but Chicago's offense once again failed to support him. He pitched six innings, allowing three earned runs on seven hits and a walk, while striking out seven in the loss.

Fantasy Impact:

Giolito finally earned a decision, just not the one fantasy managers were looking for. He fell to 0-1 on the year, despite having a solid 2.57 ERA. The White Sox ace allowed a leadoff home run to Taylor Ward, and then another to Shohei Ohtani in the first inning. After that, Giolito was solid, but the White Sox offense continued to struggle mightily. Until they can start producing runs for any of their starters, a quality start and avoiding a loss would be a big win for fantasy managers.
