Corey Knebel pitched a perfect ninth inning with two strikeouts on Sunday against the Mets to earn his fifth save of the season.
Fantasy Impact:
Saving a one-run game against a team that just tagged you for a horrendous blown save is about the best thing that Knebel could have done, both for the Phillies and his fantasy managers. As expected, Joe Girardi did not hesitate to go back to Knebel in the next save opportunity, and his clean outing only further reinforces his job security. He now has a 3.00 ERA and 1.08 WHIP and should see nearly every save opportunity for Philadelphia going forward.
