Carlos Carrasco allowed four runs on eight hits and a walk over 4 1/3 innings on Sunday against the Mariners. He struck out two and did not factor into the decision.
Carrasco just wasn't sharp on Sunday, struggling with his command and having difficulty missing bats. He had a paltry 16% CSW rate with just eight whiffs, and Buck Showalter pulled him at just 77 pitches. Carrasco isn't striking out a ton of batters this season and his 7.68 K/9 rate would be his worst since 2013. But he has just a 3.03 FIP and 3.46 xFIP and has generally demonstrated elite control. Despite the occasional rocky outing like Sunday's, Carrasco is a player who fantasy managers should leave in their lineups, including in his next start in Colorado against the Rockies.
