Corey Knebel blows save on Sunday against Dodgers

by Dan Harris | Phillies Correspondent | Sun, May 15th 9:04pm EDT

Corey Knebel allowed two runs on two hits and a walk over 2/3 of an inning on Sunday against the Dodgers to blow his second save of the season.

Fantasy Impact:

Knebel came in with a one-run lead and recorded the first two outs before allowing a triple to Cody Bellinger, a walk to Chris Taylor, and a double to Gavin Lux. This is his second blown save in his last five opportunities, but if there's an upside, it's that the entire Phillies bullpen is struggling so there isn't an obvious replacement. Indeed, the likely next man up, Jeurys Familia, blew the save when he filled in for Knebel over the weekend and gave up a run himself on Sunday. Knebel still has a decent 3.60 ERA and 1.27 WHIP and should continue to serve as the Philadelphia closer. But his job security is starting to wane a bit.
