Tanner Rainey blows save, picks up win Wednesday against Marlins

by Chris Schommer | Nationals Correspondent | Thu, May 19th 8:13am EDT

Nationals RP Tanner Rainey struggled out of the bullpen Wednesday, allowing one run on one hit while also walking two and striking out one, blowing a save opportunity but picking up the win in the Nationals' 5-4 win over the Marlins.

Fantasy Impact:

Rainey has now blown two save opportunities in his last three relief appearances for the Nationals, allowing six runs in that span. The right-hander holds and 3.38 ERA and 1.41 WHIP in 11 relief appearances this season, but his performance lately is worth monitoring in a closer situation that continues to become more uncertain for the Nationals.
