Evan Phillips takes second loss of the season on Sunday

by Josh Thiessen | Dodgers Correspondent | Sun, May 22nd 6:09pm EDT

Los Angeles Dodgers RP Evan Phillips pitched the 10th inning on Sunday, striking out one, and allowing two hits for zero earned runs in the Dodgers' 4-3 loss to the Phillies.

Fantasy Impact:

Phillips was marked with the loss on Sunday but it was not quite as it seems as the loss should not be seen as his but more as that of the teams second basemen Max Muncy. The relief pitcher got Alec Bohm to hit what should be a routine groundout which may have scored just one run instead of two, but the unexpected happened when Max Muncy went blind and lost all ability to play baseball which allowed the Phillies to walk off the game on a 2-run infield single. Despite the dramatic loss on Sunday the reliever should not be rostered as he does not earn wins or saves due to his not being used in high leverage situations.
