Fantasy Impact:
Contreras made three relief appearances in Pittsburgh in April before being sent down to stretch out with the intent of starting. Since being sent down, he has tallied a 2.66 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 20 1/3 innings. Whether he will join the rotation or return to the bullpen is unknown. Contreras is an add in dynasty leagues, though he is most likely unavailable. For managers dealing with injury issues or just in need of pitching help, he is worth a flyer.
