Matt Carpenter went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in New York's 2-0 win against Tampa on Friday.

Matt Carpenter went deep for his first time as a member of the Yankees on Friday night. It was his first of the season and his first hit for New York in two games since being signed on Thursday. Carpenter DH'd again on Friday and his presence has added another patient, professional hitter to a Yankees lineup that has continued to produce in spite of all of their recent injuries and illnesses.
