David Fletcher (hip surgery) cleared to begin playing catch

by Luke Monaldo | Braves Correspondent | Sun, Jun 5th 8:51am EDT

David Fletcher is progressing in his recovery from hip surgery and has been cleared to begin playing catch again as reported by MLB.com’s Rhett Bollinger. (Rhett Bollinger, MLB.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Fletcher underwent surgery back in May 10 to repair his left and right abductor muscles. After visiting a hip specialist in Philadelphia on June 2 who was happy with his progress, Fletcher has been cleared to beginning playing catch. Fletcher is optimistic he can return in July. When healthy, Fletcher is a fantasy asset, and his poor start prior to the injury (.158, 0 HR, 2 RBI, 0 SB) can be partly attributed to health. Fletcher is worth a speculative add and stash if he is available in your league.
